The quest for the unique
It all started with us looking for something unique.
We’re Maftuna and Aleksey, and together we run UnikMosaik. We’re an entrepreneurial couple who love bringing ideas to life, finding new opportunities and creating things from scratch. But sometimes a business idea begins with something much simpler than a big business plan. In our case, it started with looking for something we wanted ourselves—but couldn’t find.
When we were renovating and looking for beautiful natural stone mosaics, we discovered how difficult it was to find something that really stood out. Finding truly beautiful marble mosaics with exciting colours, shapes and patterns felt almost impossible.
We grew tired of seeing so much that looked the same. White, black and neutral colours. Square, strict and predictable. Of course, there’s a place for the classic and understated, but does everything really have to look the same? Where were the colours, shapes and details that stir emotions and give a home personality?
When we couldn’t find what we were looking for, we started to wonder: why not create it ourselves?
And so the idea for UnikMosaik was born—a place for those who want to discover something out of the ordinary and dare to give their home more character.
A home that feels right
We believe your home should make you happy.
For us, interior design is about more than choosing colors and materials that go together. A home is a place where life happens. Where we start our mornings, gather with family, unwind after a long day and make memories.
That’s why we believe a home should feel personal. It should reflect the people who live there and be a place you look forward to coming home to.
Sometimes, you don’t need a major renovation to change the feel of a room. A green marble mosaic that contrasts with neutral tones, a warm pink hue that brings it to life, or an unexpected pattern that catches the eye may be all it takes.
That’s exactly the feeling we want to create with UnikMosaik: the inspiration to dare to choose something you truly love, instead of always choosing what everyone else chooses.
Think outside the box.
Marble isn’t just for the kitchen and bathroom.
One thing we’d love to change is the idea that marble mosaics belong only between kitchen cabinets or on bathroom walls. We think this material deserves much more space than that!
Why not let mosaic become a personal touch in the hallway, create a striking feature wall in the living room, or give your home workspace a look all of its own? With the right idea, mosaic can be used in many more places than you might first think.
And it doesn’t always have to be perfectly symmetrical or follow strict rules. Different colors, shapes, and patterns can be combined to create something playful, unexpected, and personal.
We want to inspire more people to think outside the usual boundaries. After all, who decided everything has to be square?
With care
From our idea to your home
We carefully curate our selection, looking for natural stone mosaics that offer more than just a practical surface. We want you to find colors, shapes, and natural patterns that spark your creativity and help you create a home that feels like your own.
UnikMosaik is run from Sweden by us, Maftuna and Aleksey, through BYGGBARA AB. We’re an online business with the ambition of making it easier for customers in Sweden and the rest of Europe to discover and order beautiful marble mosaics.
As entrepreneurs, we enjoy developing ideas, exploring new paths, and constantly learning more. UnikMosaik is part of that journey, and we look forward to continuing to expand both our selection and the inspiration we offer you.
Our mosaic world
Welcome to our world of mosaic
Perhaps you'll find a color you've never considered before. Perhaps you'll fall for a pattern you didn't know you were looking for. Or perhaps you'll discover that this very little detail is what your home was missing.
We hope UnikMosaik inspires you to be a little bolder, think a little more freely, and create an environment that makes you happy—every day.
Because in the end, it's not just about mosaic. It's about creating homes that are beautiful to look at, wonderful to live in, and personal enough to feel like home.
A warm welcome to UnikMosaik!
